A trip to Cannon Beach, Oregon had been a delicious wish for a while. I heard so many remarkable reviews and comments about the beauty of this spot, but didn’t have a chance to fulfil the wish until I started planning something special for my birthday. Then, there was not a moment of hesitation of where to go and what to do.
We landed at Hallmark Oceanfront resort. The room was facing the ocean and the Haystack Rock, which is one of the most prominent landmarks of the Cannon Beach.
I was so thrilled to see the morning view of the rocks from the room deck. It was astounding! As the sun was rising, the Haystack Rock was emerging from the veil of mist in its full glory, and the changing colors of the sky and clouds were creating a perfect background for this beach giant.
After enjoying this magic moment, off we went to get acquainted with a local gourmet cuisine, and have breakfast. There are quite a few choices to have breakfast, but Wayfarer restaurant‘s menu items made us feel like we wanted to be there. We were after egg benedicts
… but were pleasantly surprised to find other delicious items in the menu like that one
Fed, and pleasantly full, we’re exploring the town on Cannon Beach. It’s tiny, it’s pretty, well-manicured, a resort for urban dwellers who are getting away for the weekend from the business of big cities. Its lovely scenery and restaurants create wonderful settings for engagement and wedding events.
The town is a little germ richly decorated with all kinds of blooms and vintage finds, a sweet spot for photographers who are scouting new locations for photoshoot sessions.
The weather was simply perfect – warm and sunny, and not too windy, which is not so common for the Pacific coast in that area.
In an hour or so we hopped in the car to drive along the winding picturesque coastal freeway in Oregon in search of new adventures.
